Hello everybody and welcome back to the pursuit of purpose podcast. I am Melissa Bareham and I am so excited that you are here with me today. I've had a Whole packed. It feels packed. I don't know. I mean, I guess my days were pretty empty, but like a full two days of just working on like all different ideas and planning and business stuff and a lot of back end.

Just getting my, my ducks in a row. So I'm a little, my brain's a little frazzled or frazzled or just burnt out from a lot of that. But it's like, if you Are a business owner or know a business owner or can relate at all to that. It's like the simultaneous feeling of being, oh my gosh, overloaded in your brain and also like super energized by it as well.

Maybe that's a generator thing. I don't know. I don't know what your design is, but it had a little, Uh, a packed few days and I'm now just finally getting to jump back onto my mic and I'm so excited Because I kept trying to find time to slot this in But yeah, I am really stoked to jump into today's episode before we do that I want to give you guys a reminder of the giveaway that I have going on right now because while i'm doing all this back end work and planning out like What is going on?

You know, I'm doing for the podcast, what I'm really wanting to infuse into you know, like the next phase of my coaching business. I want to hear from you. And I've got 250 bucks up for grabs. If you just want to share me your candid thoughts, whether that's this podcast doesn't help you at all. Or, you know, if you have ideas for what would serve you better, what offer you'd like to see, what you really wish someone out there in that industry was either talking about or putting out or something that would help you.

I want to know. So I have a survey it's linked in the show notes and if you go and fill that out, I swear it will take two minutes to four minutes depending on how robust you want to be with it. But I want to hear from you and let you influence what it is that I'm creating to serve this audience, be on my podcast or for my clients.

What is it that you're looking for? Where do you need help in your life to understand and follow what your soul calling is? What are you looking for? And in what kind of format and how am I serving you already? That is really working. And you want to see more of anything and everything you have this chance to influence really what my podcast and my business looks like for the upcoming year and want to give you guys the opportunity to share your free flowing thoughts.

And also it really helps me to make sure that I'm serving you where it helps most. And as a thank you for that, I'm going to be offering somebody 250 as a gift card for all and any of my services. So you can use that towards, you know, a one off session with me or with my program, my three month program.

So jump over onto that. I would appreciate it so, so much. As I said, the link for that form or for that survey is in my show notes and just takes a few minutes. I would be eternally grateful. And you got a high chance of winning because not a lot of people have entered yet. So, uh, If you want that dip into that, don't forget, but thank you in advance.

Or if you have already already filled it out, I really appreciate it. So, so much. Okay. What is up for this week? I mean, in the past couple of weeks, I've kind of been trying to find step with, you know, transitioning from doing a corporate, you know, gig and a nine to five, whatever you want to call it for a long time.

And then going, wow, you really run your own show. You run your own business. That's hard sometimes and you actually don't really think about the structures that you don't have because you're not in school, you're not in like a system you're not in a corporation where you're accountable for something, you're just accountable to yourself.

And what I've realized is that sometimes that can throw you, you know, if you have a bad day or you get kind of stuck in a funk, that can kind of spiral sometimes and it's really only up to you to get yourself out of it. And What I've been finding the past couple of weeks was, you know, I'm not a huge, I'm not a huge routine girl.

I, I know everyone swears by it, morning routines, nightly routines. I've tried, I've tried so many different things. There's stuff I love and there's stuff I've taken and there's also stuff that I'm like, this isn't really for me so much and so I've just let it go. Which is kind of my way of doing it, but I am more of a spontaneous, person.

So like, I don't want a meal plan because I don't want to eat the same thing every day. I don't always want to like a really rigorous morning routine, et cetera. So I don't know if you relate to me on that one. I feel like the whole world is preaching routine, routine, routine. And I kind of like go with the flow of what my human design Is which is to respond as a generator and I kind of just go like what do I like?

What's what's most supportive? What do I need right now? That's actually the best question and What I figured out from a lot of this practicing of trial and error and like taking what works leaving what doesn't is that? There are certain habits and rituals that instantly make me feel better. And the other thing, the other things that I, you know, tried and taken and put them in my back pocket and gone like, okay, this is part of my arsenal.

I guess this is my medicine cabinet for, if I'm in a funk or, you know, just feeling like off. And if I need more focus, if I need to just feel this is what I reach for. And I wanted to share some of that with you because if you are someone like me, or even if you're not, but you just are looking for another really simple thing to try that I swear, it's not just for me.

I think it will really work for every anybody to just kind of reset you instantly and give you like a, Like, one of those, a defibrillator shock, you know, to your system, and can I just get you back on track? These are the tweaks and things that really have helped me when I thought about them, and I wanted to share them with you guys today.

So the first one that I have on here, you know, a daily habit or a ritual that really just makes me feel good. Like myself, is movement, and that's daily movement. Now, I'm not talking about go and do, you know, a 20k run. Although, if that's your jam, go for it. I feel like you're a whole different animal than I am, if that's your thing.

But like, you know, a run will do. But it's big or small, just something where physiologically you're moving your body. And I don't have the sitting tippet statistics to pull this up right now, I could. But. I don't want to stop recording, but if you look this up, physio, physiologically, that's the word, um, movement can improve and change your mood drastically.

So it's changing the hormones and just the chemicals that are going through your body. I think it's like, Oh wow, I really should have looked this up beforehand, but it's like a spike in cortisol or something like that. Maybe it's lowering it. I'm not sure. Makes you feel better. And it's not always what I want to do.

But it is always what makes me feel most energized that day. And I'm not saying go do a workout and worked out workout seven days a week because no one keeps that up. I mean, I think it's really great if you can. And if you have like a routine where it's even like 15 minutes a day and you do some little, I don't know, online workout or something like that.
